On Thursday, in Tokyo, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Japan Rahm Emanuel within the framework of the “Central Asia + USA” format.
A. Bayramov confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further strengthen a constructive partnership with the United States in the interests of mutual prosperity. In particular, it was noted that during the first summit in the “Central Asia + USA” format on September 19, 2023 in New York with the participation of the presidents of the countries, a good opportunity was provided to discuss a number of issues, including those related to regional security, trade and climate change. A meeting of this format has proven itself to be an effective regional platform for deepening economic cooperation, maintaining security, and sustainable development in Central Asia, the ambassador noted.
Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the need to continue cooperation on issues related to the expansion of economic and energy cooperation, climate change, as well as countering the challenges and risks of our time, according to the website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
