In Tokyo, a meeting of the Turkmen delegation led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with representatives of the Japanese business community took place in the format of a business breakfast, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The purpose of the negotiations was to consolidate the dynamics of bilateral interaction and determine its new prospects.
The Turkmen side noted the progressive development of cooperation between the countries in the fields of energy, mining, chemical industry and transport. Particular importance was attached to the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Japanese businessmen in 2022, where specific proposals were made to expand the partnership.
Projects in the field of export of high-tech products, green energy, and attracting investment from Japanese companies in the infrastructure of Turkmenistan were considered at the negotiations. The prospects for creating joint ventures and involving small and medium-sized businesses in the implementation of common projects were also discussed.
Japanese companies have shown great interest in cooperation in the field of infrastructure and energy transition of Turkmenistan. After the main negotiations, bilateral meetings of members of the Turkmen delegation with representatives of the largest Japanese corporations took place.
