The Qatar national team won a landslide victory over the Lebanese team in the first round of the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup. The meeting at the “Al-Bayt” stadium in Al-Khowr ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the tournament hosts.
Qatari national team forwards Akram Afif (double) and Ali Almoez distinguished themselves. Afif scored in the last minutes of the first and second halves.
In the next match of group “A”, the Qataris will play with the Tajikistan team, the Lebanese team will meet with players from China.
Let us remind that initially the Asian Cup was supposed to be held in the summer of 2023 in China, but due to the pandemic, the country refused to host the tournament. Qatar was chosen as the venue last October.
