Scripts for two episodes of the American television series “Friends”, discovered in a trash bin, were sold at auction by Hansons for 22 thousand pounds sterling. This is 30 times the original estimate of the lots, which was 600-800 pounds sterling. “AiF” reports this.
The script seller is a British retiree who worked at Fountain Studios in the 1990s. A woman found script folders in a trash can about 25 years ago and put them in a drawer. In 1999, when she left the studio, the scripts ended up on her bedside table.
The pensioner is not a big fan of the series and did not know what to do with the scripts. She decided to auction them off so they could reach a true “Friends” fan.
The auction house clarified that the scripts were written for the Ross wedding episode, which consisted of a two-part finale of the fourth season of the television series. They were thrown out immediately after filming so that no one could find out the storyline before the episodes aired.
