NordPass, a company specializing in password management, has presented the results of a large-scale study of passwords that users choose in 2024. The analysis showed that most people still ignore the basic rules of digital security, snob.ru reports.
The study found that the absolute leader among passwords is the primitive combination “123456”. The top ten most common also included: “123456789”, “12345678”, “password”, “qwerty123”, “qwerty1”, “111111”, “12345”, “secret”, “123123”.
NordPass specialists warn that hacking any of these passwords occurs in less than a second.
Specialists are particularly concerned about the fact that users often use the same simple passwords for both personal and work accounts. Furthermore, despite numerous cybersecurity awareness campaigns, users persist in unhealthy password habits.
