Chancellor Ahaghotu, a student at Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia, broke the world record for longest time drawing. He stayed at the easel for 100 hours straight, which is 40 hours more than the previous record set by Roland Palmaerts in 2013. This was reported by “MIR 24” with reference to the Guinness World Records website.

In order to break the record, the artist had to create recognizable images without resorting to abstraction. Over four days, Ahaghotu painted 106 paintings of celebrities, foods, plants, animals and other objects.

According to the rules of long marathons, the artist was entitled to a five-minute rest break for every hour of continuous work. These breaks could be accumulated if they were not used. In “five minutes” you could use the toilet, eat or sleep.

Ahaghotu planned to create one painting per hour, so before the start of the marathon he prepared 100 canvases with sketches. However, after a few hours he completed the preparations and spent the rest of the time drawing on improvised themes. The last painting was a work depicting an exhausted man.
