Turkmenistan will begin reconstruction of the Garabogaz customs post on the Turkmen-Kazakh border in early January 2024, reports the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The goal of the project is to expand the territory and increase the capacity of the customs post.
As part of the reconstruction, it is planned to refurbish the administrative building and install new X-ray machines for vehicle inspection. The work should be completed by the end of 2024.
“It is expected that the modernization of the customs post will help reduce the time of customs clearance procedures, which in turn will stimulate an increase in goods passing through the post, and new high-precision X-ray equipment will make it possible to conduct an in-depth analysis of the quantity and quality of goods imported into our country,” – says the message from the customs department of Turkmenistan.
