Turkmenistan will take a number of measures aimed at deepening cooperation with the United Nations. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported this during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, TDH reports.
In particular, Turkmenistan will create a working group within the UN that will determine the main directions and content of the Global Security Strategy initiated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. The new body is expected to include representatives of countries belonging to the Group of Friends of Neutrality.
In the first quarter of 2024, Turkmenistan, together with specialized UN structures, will also begin preparing a new Framework Program for Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2026-2030, a Roadmap for solving problems arising from the documents of the COP-28 climate conference and an Action Plan for Prevention and Adaptation to climate change by 2024.
Turkmenistan will also study the issue of opening new areas within the structure of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan to protect the rights of children, women and entrepreneurs.
