Tokyo Tower, one of the Japanese capital's most recognizable landmarks, celebrates the 65th anniversary of its opening. The tower was built in 1958 and for a long time was the tallest building in Japan, until it was overtaken by the new Tokyo Skytree in 2012, TASS reports.
Tokyo Tower is 333 meters high and is a popular tourist attraction. About 2.5-3 million people visit it annually. Its observation deck offers panoramic views of the city.
To celebrate the tower's 65th anniversary, Tokyo is hosting various events, including a festival of light and music.
