A group of Turkmen schoolchildren won the International Project Competition on Information Technologies “Infomatrix-Asia”, which was held in Astana, writes the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
The competition was organized by the Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn” of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan together with the International Public Foundation “Knowledge-Innovation”.
The main goals of the competition are to support talented youth in the field of IT, develop innovative projects, and strengthen international cooperation.
The competition is held in English in six IT areas. Turkmenistan was represented by 18 students with 15 projects. In total, members of the Turkmen team won 19 awards of various denominations, including 2 gold, 3 silver and 14 bronze medals.
Gold medals were awarded to the eleventh grader of the Ashgabat specialized secondary boarding school named after S. Turkmenbashy Medine Akmuradova and the 10th grade student of the Ashgabat secondary specialized school № 87 Mahriban Shohradova.
The convincing victory of Turkmen students at the prestigious international competition is a clear confirmation of the effective reform of the domestic school education system on an innovative basis, the source comments.
