Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, reports the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Meredov arrived in Russia to participate in the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian countries. He discussed current issues of bilateral relations with Lavrov, including interaction on international platforms and the schedule of upcoming contacts.
The foreign ministers of the two countries confirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership and developing multifaceted interaction between Ashgabat and Moscow.
The parties paid special attention to interaction in the implementation of educational and cultural projects.
“I will highlight one of our flagship projects - the creation of the Russian-Turkmen University and the construction of a new building of the State Russian Drama Theater. Work is underway on the construction of an additional building for the school named after A.S. Pushkin. We are sincerely grateful to our Turkmen friends for such attention to this particular area, to exchanges in the field of culture and education. We perceive your interest in the Russian language positively”, - said Sergey Lavrov.
The Russian Foreign Minister also noted that on December 11, the Russian side will be adequately represented at the next meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality in Ashgabat.
