Heavy snowfall paralyzed life in Munich, Germany. The city with a population of one and a half million people was cut off from the rest of Germany, reports “MIR 24”.
At Munich Airport the height of the snowdrifts reached one meter. One of the planes, under the weight of the snow, overturned on its tail. Icing on wires paralyzed train traffic. The station is closed, trains stand together with passengers. All types of public transport, including buses, trams and metro, have been stopped.
Blocks of snow hanging from roofs and trees pose a danger to people. Therefore, Munich residents were advised not to go outside.
