1. The delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Atahalliyev was sent to Dushanbe. The purpose of the business trip is to participate in the 12th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
2. The law “On the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2024” has been published in Turkmenistan. According to the Law, the country’s state budget for 2024 in terms of income and expenses has been approved. The law establishes the amount of deductions from national taxes to the budgets of the cities of Ashgabat, Arkadag and velayats.
3. Mechanical and biological methods are used to regularly clean the bed of the Karakum River in Turkmenistan. Mechanical methods include clearing using dredgers and bulldozers, which widen and deepen the riverbed, maintaining the capacity of hydraulic networks and reservoirs. Biological methods include purification with the help of large herbivorous fish - white and bighead carp, carp, white and black carp.
4. In the capital of Turkmenistan, a concert of the Ashgabat children's choir conducted by Vita Timerman, accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra, was held with great success. The concert was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the European Union and Turkmenistan and was held as part of the EU Culture Week. The children's choir performed works by Turkmen and European composers. The guys sang in English, Turkmen, Latvian, French, German, Italian.
5. Reconstruction will be carried out in the Ashgabat parks “100 Fountains” and “Bayram han Turkmen”. In this regard, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, by order of the hyakimlik of the city of Ashgabat, announced a tender for the reconstruction of these parks. Applications and proposals from interested parties will be accepted until January 10, 2024.
6. An international scientific and practical conference “Sustainable Transport: Contribution to Sustainable Development” was held in Ashgabat on the occasion of the first World Sustainable Transport Day. It was emphasized that transport connectivity is crucial for the future of all states in terms of reducing the cost of transporting goods and improving access to global markets.

7. The world's largest iceberg, A23a, has begun to move after 37 years on the seabed. The block of ice broke off from the Antarctic coastline in 1986, but quickly sank to the bottom of the sea. The iceberg covers an area of almost 4,000 sq km, twice the size of London, and is about 400 meters thick. A23a has picked up speed in recent months and is now passing the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula, according to satellite data.

9. 28 years old referee Timur Kulmuradov was recognized as the best referee of the 2023 season of the Turkmenistan Futsal Super League. The winners of the annual award of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan were announced at the end-of-season awards ceremony, which was held in Ashgabat. Abdulla Nursahedov from the “Denizchi” team won the best player nomination. Goalkeeper Meretgeldy Bayramov (“Denizchi”) was recognized as the best goalkeeper. The best scorer of the tournament was the “Kopetdag” team player Mulkaman Annakuliyev.
10. The opening ceremony of the 14th World Kurash Wrestling Championship was held in Ashgabat. The venue was the Martial Arts Sports Complex, which is part of the infrastructure of the capital's Olympic village. Numerous spectators gathered in the stands of the 5000-seat arena, excitedly awaiting the start of the celebration marking the start of the competition. 11. A ceremony was held in the Olympic city to honor the Turkmen athletes who won medals at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Mexico. Gaygysyz Torayev, Shahzadbek Matyakubov and Anamjan Rustamova were awarded medals of various denominations at the championship. The latter managed to set a new Asian record among juniors in the weight category up to 81 kg, lifting 104 kg in the snatch. The winners of the youth championship were awarded certificates of honor and valuable prizes.
