The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin, the State News Agency TDH reports.

Presenting his credentials, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings to the head of the Turkmen state from the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia Abdullah Riayatuddin Al-Mustafa Bill and Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim, who emphasized the special importance attached to strengthening the ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is confidently following the path of sovereign development.

Thanking for the kind words and conveying his best wishes to the top leadership of Malaysia, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, wishing him success in his work aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties.

As emphasized, Malaysia is one of the most important partners of Turkmenistan in the Asia-Pacific region. Interstate relations, based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and understanding, are currently acquiring a new meaning.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the successful development of friendly ties and the consistent strengthening of political mutual trust between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, praising the support and close cooperation of the two countries within the framework of international organizations such as the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the OIC and others.

During an interested exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of the Turkmen-Malaysian partnership, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the wide opportunities for its further development in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

– Speaking about bilateral relations, it is important to note that Turkmen-Malaysian trade and economic relations demonstrate positive dynamics. Cooperation in the oil and gas industry is progressing successfully,” stated the head of state.

The long-term successful activity in Turkmenistan of the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas Charigali, which makes a significant contribution to the development of the country’s oil and gas industry, was cited as an impressive example of mutually beneficial bilateral partnership in this area.

For many years, the company has successfully implemented projects for the extraction of hydrocarbons, and also promotes the training of highly qualified Turkmen specialists in the oil and gas industry.

An important component of bilateral relations, according to general opinion, is cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in particular in the fields of science, education and culture.

Emphasizing Turkmenistan’s commitment to deepening and building up a fruitful partnership, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the further steady development of the Turkmen-Malaysian dialogue for the benefit of the two peoples.

Thanking for the kind parting words and the warm welcome on Turkmen soil, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin assured that he would make every effort to strengthen the established interstate relations that fully meet mutual interests.
