President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov takes part in the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which began work in the capital of Uzbekistan, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the multilateral summit meeting, the head of Turkmen state will voice Turkmenistan’s vision for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships in various fields within the ECO.
“Turkmenistan, being a member of this Organization since 1992, makes a worthy contribution to building up partnerships in a multilateral format and is actively increasing friendly, good-neighborly relations with the ECO member states. Over the years of joint activity within the framework of this structure, solid experience has been accumulated, creating a solid foundation for further strengthening effective ties for the long term”, - said in a statement of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During its chairmanship of the ECO from 2021, Turkmenistan, following a specially developed Concept, demonstrated a comprehensively thought-out approach to fulfilling this responsible mission, aimed at achieving specific results.
In particular, Turkmenistan identified as key tasks giving dynamics to the activities of the ECO in the context of changing realities in the economy and trade, establishing more systematic interaction in the transport and energy segments of the partnership, its electronic and digital support, and sharing experience in the field of ecology. All this has become relevant against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected regional and global relations.
