Representatives of the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund held targeted lectures at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management. This was reported in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
Students and teachers of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the International University of Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, as well as employees of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan also attended the event.
During the lecture, speakers from the WTO introduced those present to the history of the emergence, basic principles and institutional structure of the WTO, and also spoke about the main prospects for further cooperation between the Organization and Turkmenistan.
Members of the International Monetary Fund delegation made a presentation on the topic “Prospects for economic development of the region”. Listeners were familiarized with the main macroeconomic indicators of the current and prospects for further development of the region. It was emphasized that the necessary conditions for the long-term economic development of each country are prudent fiscal and monetary policies, as well as investments in education and innovation.
At the end of the main part of the lectures, the speakers answered questions from the audience.
At the end of the lectures, a tour of the university was organized for the guests.
