The Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan are negotiating the launch of the first cargo ship between the ports of Makhachkala and Turkmenbashy. The online publication “Mirmol” writes about this with reference to a representative of the Makhachkala Sea Port Commercial.
According to a representative of the Russian port, the launch of the vessel will strengthen trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Dagestan.
“We are waiting from partners from Turkmenistan for data on the type of the first ship and the format for placing it on the line, on the basis of which the necessary cargo base and port infrastructure will be prepared on our part”, - said a representative of Makhachkala Sea Port Commercial JSC.
It is expected that ferry service for container transport will be launched first.
