A 62-year-old resident of Cyprus, Aristotelis Valaoritis, set a world record by holding a structure of 319 glasses of wine on his head, writes MIR 24.
Magic tricks and dancing with glasses on his head are a hobby for Valaoritis, which he does in his free time, and he works as a security adviser. In the evenings, he entertains audiences at restaurants and events, demonstrating the wonders of balancing.
Valaoritis' result is included in the Guinness Book of Records; this is 49 glasses more than his compatriot Ntinos Kkanti, who balanced with 270 glasses, held on his head last year.
The glasses with which Valaoritis set a new record were placed on nine trays and weighed about 30 kg. All the time, while the assistants were putting more and more glasses of wine on the tray, Valaoritis danced and entertained the audience. After the last glass was installed, the man held the structure for more than 20 seconds without stopping dancing.
To support such a weight on his head, he needed long training of his neck muscles. Valaoritis plans to set two more records - the maximum number of glasses on a head, inserted into each other, and the maximum number of glasses with whiskey.
