Turkmenistan and China agreed to cooperate in simplifying customs procedures

The customs departments of Turkmenistan and China will cooperate in strengthening the capacity of the Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Program, which is aimed at ensuring security and simplifying customs procedures, reports the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The intentions of the parties were cemented by a Memorandum of Understanding signed during a working visit to Beijing by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The document is intended to promote the development of bilateral partnership in the field of creating and strengthening the system of Authorized Economic Operators through the mutual exchange of knowledge and skills.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties intend to conduct educational events, trainings, meetings to improve the skills of employees in the field of AEO, as well as organize mutual visits to exchange experience in implementing the AEO system.

The signing of the document will contribute to the development of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and China, the Turkmen customs department said in a statement.
