In a friendly match between the national teams of Iran and Qatar, the Iranian team won a convincing victory with a score of 4:0. One of the goals was scored by Serdar Azmoun, a forward of Turkmen origin who plays for the Iranian national team.

This goal was Azmoun's 47th in the national team jersey. Thus, he approached the record holder for the number of goals for the national team, Karim Bagheri, who has 50 goals. The leader in this indicator remains Ali Daei with 109 goals.
