The Turkish women's volleyball team won gold medals at the European Championships held in Belgium, Germany, Italy and Estonia. In a tough final match in Brussels, the Turkish athletes beat the Serbian team 3-2 (25:27, 25:21, 22:25, 25:22, 15:13).
The bronze medals went to the Netherlands team, who defeated Italy in the match for third place with a score of 3-0 (25:23, 28:26, 25:20).
This victory was historic for the Turkish women's volleyball team. For the first time they managed to win the title of European champion. Previously, they only twice became silver medalists and won bronze medals of the continental championship three times.
