Issues of developing the potential of the tourism industry of Turkmenistan were discussed on August 30 during a training organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics and UNDP in Ashgabat.
The event was held within the framework of the joint project of the United Nations Development Program and the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics “Strengthening the institutional, statistical and information technology capacity of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics”.
The training was attended by major Turkmen tour operators: "Sada", "Zehin", "Ahal Syyahat", "Latif". Lebap syyahat, Ashgabat syyahat, Ayly syyahat, Jahan keshte, Suvara.
As explained in the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture of the country, the training also considered the possibility of conducting, within the framework of the above-mentioned Project, the collection and evaluation of data on the tourism potential of museums in Ashgabat and the regions of the country, applying a systematic approach to the introduction of digital solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of this work.
We remind that the joint project of UNDP and the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics “Strengthening the institutional, statistical and information and technical potential of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics” was launched in early 2021 and is aimed at strengthening the potential of TurkmenStat.
