Under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan, 27 enterprises located in various parts of the country are united. One of the industrially developed regions is the Balkan velayat, on the territory of which three enterprises of the Ministry operate: the Balkan Cement Plant and the “Balkan” Quarry Administration.
The enterprises produce the main building materials - cement, crushed stone, sand, gypsum, building chalk, which are then used in the construction of industrial, social and infrastructure facilities.
Cement plant “Balkan” is located in the village of Jebel near Balkanabat. The enterprise was opened in 2011. It produces Portland cement, which is widely used in earthquake-resistant construction. The design capacity of the plant is 1 million tons of products per year.
The Balkan Quarry Department, located in the Turkmenbashy etrap (the annual capacity of the enterprise is 3 million 181 thousand cubic meters) provides the construction industry of Turkmenistan with various types of crushed stone, gravel-sand mixture, sand, rubble stone, as well as gypsum, kaolin, building chalk and other non-metallic materials, extracted from the raw material deposits of the region.
The products of enterprises are in demand throughout Turkmenistan, as well as in neighboring countries.
