The largest Amazon rainforest on the planet, which is often called the “lungs of the planet”, may disappear much faster than previously thought, reports the “MIR 24” portal.
The reason for the possible disappearance of the Amazonian forests is the climate crisis, which may erupt in the near future, although it was previously predicted that serious climatic changes would begin no earlier than the middle of the XXI century.
Approximately 20% of all ecosystems on the planet are under threat due to the environmental and climate crisis. The computer modeling of the environmental situation of the future suggests that even sustainable ecosystems can be destroyed by the consequences of global warming and climate disasters.
