1. The ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition of scientific works among young people was held at the Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan. This large-scale event, held annually on the occasion of the Day of Science, is jointly organized by the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization. The competition was attended by employees of research institutes, departmental institutions and industrial associations of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of higher educational institutions, students of secondary vocational schools, as well as young people of various professions who are interested in scientific work. Of the large number of applications registered for the competition, 67 scientific papers have won.

2. On June 12, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ashgabat hosted a reception on the occasion of the national holiday - the Day of Russia. Opening the reception, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin thanked the leadership of Turkmenistan for their careful attitude to the Russian language. The diplomat noted that Russia highly appreciates the neutral status of Turkmenistan, its focus on the implementation of constructive initiatives, on reaching a compromise and developing cooperation between the countries. According to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, a high level of cooperation in all areas is noted in relations between the two countries. The reception was attended by prominent representatives of business and public circles, the scientific and cultural community, the media, ambassadors and military attachés of foreign states and Russian compatriots.

3. As of the beginning of June 2023, the number of bank cards issued in Turkmenistan for the first five months of this year amounted to 136 959 units. The market leader in terms of the number of active bank cards in Turkmenistan is “Daikhanbank”. The second place in this indicator is taken by the Bank “Turkmenistan”, the third - by “Halkbank”.

4. In Ashgabat, within the framework of the Week of Russian Cinema and Animation, the premiere screening of the film “Cheburashka” was held. The audience liked the film directed by Dmitry Dyachenko, the premiere gathered a full house. The actor dressed as Cheburashka greeted visitors in the lobby of the Berkarar cinema. The fairy-tale eared hero handed out oranges to children, talked and took photos together. Let us remind, the Days of Russian Cinema and Animation under the brand of Russian Film Festival opened in Turkmenistan on June 9. 5. Former Prime Minister of Italy and ex-president of “Milan” Silvio Berlusconi has died at the age of 87. Party leader Forza Italia returned to San Raffaele last Friday after a long hospitalization that lasted 45 days. He was admitted to the hospital due to leukemia developed pneumonia. Berlusconi's state funeral will be held on June 14 at the Milan Cathedral. Deep condolences to President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella on the death of Silvio Berlusconi were expressed by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

6. SpaceX has hired 14 years old Kairan Quazi as a software engineer. It is specified that the teenager graduated from the engineering school of Santa Clara University, becoming the youngest graduate in the history of the institution. During his studies, he actively participated in student government and acted as a tutor for other students.

7. In the Football Federation Cup of Turkmenistan, all matches of the 4th round have ended. “Altyn asyr” beat “Energetik”, scored 12 points and became the sole leader. On the second place in the table – “Merv”, on the third “Ahal”. “Shagadam” occupied the fourth line. In the final fifth round of the FFT Cup, the matches of which will be held on June 14, “Merv” and “Altyn asyr” will determine the fate of gold medals, and “Shagadam” and “Ahal” will play a match for 3rd place.

8. It became known when Polina Guryeva will enter the Havana Grand Prix in weightlifting. Let us remind that these days in the capital of Cuba is the Olympic qualifying tournament in weightlifting. In the category up to 81 kg for women in group B, the silver medalist of the 2020 Games in the category up to 59 kg Polina Guryeva, who entered the history of Turkmenistan, won the first and so far, the only Olympic award for the country. Competitive day with the participation of Polina Guryeva will be held on June 15.

9. Kylian Mbappe has turned down a contract extension with “PSG” and will become a free agent in June 2024. The French striker's contract with “PSG”, which expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, includes the option of an extension for another season, but Mbappe sent a letter to the “PSG” management in which he notified the club of his unwillingness to use this option.
