As of the beginning of June 2023, the number of bank cards issued in Turkmenistan for the first five months of this year amounted to 136 959 units. The market leader in terms of the number of active bank cards in Turkmenistan is the SCBT “Daikhanbank”, reported on the website of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
Thus, “Daikhanbank” issued 1 878 547 bank cards. The second place in this indicator is taken by the SCBT “Turkmenistan” (1 033 140), the third - by the JSCBT “Halkbank” (630 060).
It is reported that “Daikhanbank” mainly works with clients in the regions of Turkmenistan. Thus, the bank issued most of the cards for customers in Mary (557 368 thousand), Dashoguz (463 484 thousand) and Lebap (420 615 thousand) velayats.
At the same time, the other two leaders of the rating - banks “Turkmenistan” and “Halkbank” have most of the plastic cards issued in Ashgabat – 480 737 and 228 746, respectively.
