1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov demanded to strengthen the fight against illegal import of tobacco products, components and mixtures for hookah, electronic cigarettes, illegal trade in them and their use at the meeting of the State Security Council held on Wednesday. At the meeting of the Security Council, the Minister of Internal Affairs Muhammet Hydyrov announced the results of organized activities at the checkpoints of the state border and data on seized products smuggled into the territory of Turkmenistan. As reported, in relation to citizens who committed unlawful acts, appropriate measures were taken in accordance with national legislation. After listening to the information, the head of state noted the need for an uncompromising fight against the illegal import of tobacco products, components and mixtures for hookah, electronic cigarettes into the country, their illegal trade and their use.
2. The Office of the Mufti of Turkmenistan plans to send 2312 Turkmen pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj during the celebration of Gurban Bayram, which this year falls on June 28-29-30. Representatives of the five velayats and the capital of Turkmenistan will make a hajj to Mecca and Medina, where they will perform worship of the sacred Kaaba for Muslims and other traditional rituals. For pilgrims, “Turkmen Airlines” organizes charter flights to Saudi Arabia.
