Bicycle ride held in Paris on the occasion of World Bicycle Day

A mass bike ride dedicated to the World Bicycle Day was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France. The event was attended not only by employees of the Embassy and their families, but also by representatives of the Turkmen diaspora living in Paris, as well as Turkmen and French students studying at universities in Paris, the press service of the embassy told Turkmenportal.

The bike ride started from the famous Champ de Mars park near the Eiffel Tower and passed through the most picturesque places in Paris, including the Quai Branly Museum (Que Branly), the Alexandre III bridge, the Palace of Invalides, the headquarters - UNESCO apartment, "Grand Palais Éphémère" ("Grand Palais Ephemeral"), the Military School and other places.

At the event, a detailed statement was made on the achievements of Turkmenistan in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as on the initiatives that Turkmenistan is taking to promote a healthy lifestyle, including the establishment of World Bicycle Day and the adoption of the resolution "Integrating mass cycling into public transport systems to achieve sustainable development" at the UN. The participants also stressed that this action, initiated by the Embassy of Turkmenistan, is a clear evidence of our country's commitment to a healthy lifestyle and environmental conservation.

This kind of sports events on the occasion of the World Bicycle Day were also organized in a number of diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan abroad.
