1. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree, in accordance with which the Intersectoral Commission for the Reduction of Methane Emissions was established, and its composition was approved. The document was signed to strengthen work on the systematic reduction of greenhouse gases, and mainly methane emissions, arising in various sectors of the economy.

2. On June 4 at 10:00 am, “Ashgabat” culture and leisure park will host festive events dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language and the birthday of the great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin. The program includes: an interactive performance based on the fairy tale by A.S. Pushkin “Goldfish”, thematic workshops, an educational quiz based on Pushkin's works. 3. A solar power plant with a capacity of 370 kW was opened on the territory of the “Hasyl” hotel, located in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. The power plant was installed within the framework of a project funded by the Global Environment Facility. The opening was attended by Narine Sahakyan, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan. The power plant is designed to help accelerate the use of solar energy and other renewable energy sources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change.

4. Filmmakers from Turkmenistan were invited to the competition of short films “Shoot in 48 hours”. This is an annual competition for teams of filmmakers from Central Asia. Under the terms of the competition, participants must create a short film up to four minutes in 48 hours. In 2023, the competition starts on June 17. The winner of the “Best Picture” category will travel to New York for a crash course in film making.

5. On Friday, a grain harvest campaign began in Turkmenistan. Farmers of Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats started harvesting wheat. This year, Turkmenistan plans to harvest 1 million 400 thousand tons of wheat from an area of 690 thousand hectares. The harvest in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats will begin on June 9.

6. Within the framework of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan that ended in Armenia, Yerevan State University hosted a scientific conference dedicated to the creative heritage of the great Turkmen poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi. Scientists of the two countries shared the results of research on the study and popularization of the works of the Turkmen classic poet. During the conference, the poems of the Turkmen poet, translated into Armenian by the famous poet-translator Varuzhan Hastur, were heard. The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Armenia ended on Friday evening at the State Drama Theater named after Amo Kharazyan in Artashat, where a solemn ceremony and a joint concert of artists of the two countries was held.
