1. The delegation of Turkmenistan will take part in the International Economic Forum “Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum”, which will be held on May 18-19 in Kazan. This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a telephone conversation with Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. According to the head of the highest representative body of people's power, Turkmenistan sent a representative delegation to the forum, which included leaders of industry, transport, and construction. In addition, a stand of Turkmenistan will be organized at the forum site.
2. Three Turkmen doctors, who arrived on May 15 within the framework of a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan, began providing medical and advisory assistance to women and children in a maternity hospital built by Turkmenistan in the village of Turgundi, Herat province. The Afghan side warmly welcomed the doctors from Turkmenistan. The humanitarian mission of doctors was carried out in accordance with the Order of the President of Turkmenistan. Turkmen doctors will work here until the end of May. Let us remind that on May 11, Turkmenistan sent a humanitarian cargo with products weighing about 125 tons to Afghanistan.
3. The issues of increasing the supply of Turkmen natural gas to the energy market of the region will be discussed by the leaders of the countries of Central Asia and China at the upcoming summit in Xi'an on May 18-19. Gas supplies to the Middle Kingdom are carried out along three lines (A, B and C), passing along the route Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China. Turkmen natural gas can be used not only by the end consumer - China, but also by transit countries - Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Earlier it was reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping invited Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the “Central Asia-China” summit.
4. In April 2023, over 154 thousand tourists visited Azerbaijan, which is 83% more than in the same period in 2022. Turkmenistan entered the top 15 countries in terms of the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan in April 2023. According to statistics, over 1,9 thousand Turkmen citizens arrived in Azerbaijan last month for tourism purposes. At the same time, the land borders of the republic remain closed for crossing until July 1, 2023. Visiting Azerbaijan is possible only by air transport.
5. Teachers of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University took part in online training seminars organized by Moscow State University. The webinars were held within the framework of the Agreement signed in January this year between the Turkmen University and Moscow State University. Russian specialists held a total of eight training seminars, which were devoted to the topic of teaching foreign languages in the context of digitalization of education.
