The delegation of Turkmenistan will take part in the International Economic Forum "Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum", which will be held on May 18-19 in Kazan. This was stated today by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a telephone conversation with Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, the press service of the head of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
According to the head of the highest representative body of people's power, Turkmenistan sent a representative delegation to the forum, which included leaders of industry, transport, and construction. In addition, a stand of Turkmenistan will be organized at the forum site.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his confidence that the upcoming international economic forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" in Kazan would traditionally be held at the highest level.
In turn, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to give the forum a federal status aroused even greater interest in the event from the world community.
The national leader of the Turkmen people separately drew attention to the importance of new logistics corridors, such as the North-South. Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, noted that a round table meeting on this topic would be held within the framework of the forum.
"Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" is the main platform for economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the countries of the Islamic world. The purpose of the Forum is to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
For the first time, the International Economic Summit of Russia and the OIC Member States was held in 2009, creating a leading international platform for discussing cooperation and implementing joint projects. In May 2022, 6388 people from 64 countries of the world and 59 regions of Russia became participants in the events held as part of the summit. In 2023, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin issued a Decree on giving the event federal status.
The leitmotif of KazanForum 2023 will be economic partnership in modern realities, among the key topics of the business program: international cooperation, sustainable development, industry, Islamic finance, halal industry, youth forum, entrepreneurship, business opportunities, diplomacy, technology, logistics, investment, women's view, education, medicine, sport.
The event will include the Russia Halal Expo exhibition and an exhibition of investment and infrastructure projects at the Kazan Expo IEC, the Russia Halal Market fair at the Kazan International Equestrian Sports Complex, as well as a culinary show from chefs of Islamic countries.
On May 20 and 21, 2023, the cultural part of the program will be organized for the guests of the forum: a sightseeing tour to the island town of Sviyazhsk, an excursion program to the ancient city of Bolgar: “Izge Bolgar Zhyeny” (UNESCO World Heritage Sites).
