Putin invited Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Moscow for May 9 celebrations

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation today, invited his Turkmen counterpart Serdar Berdimuhamedov to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which are scheduled to be held in Moscow on May 9. This was reported by the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television.

The President of Turkmenistan thanked the leader of the friendly state for the invitation.

The heads of the two states cordially congratulated each other on the approaching Victory Day in the war of 1941-1945, addressing the wishes of well-being and prosperity to the peoples of both countries.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that in Turkmenistan, as in Russia, the memory of those who defended the country on the battlefields in those harsh years and selflessly worked in the rear, bringing victory closer, is sacredly honored.

As the head of Turkmenistan said, today we pay tribute to the memory of those who fought, not sparing their lives for the sake of victory, and reverently, with great attention to the war veterans living among us, emphasizing that in the future special attention will be paid to this.

Touching upon the topic of interstate cooperation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership is developing in a wide range of areas. Top-level meetings and contacts are held on a regular basis.

It is noteworthy that during 2022 six meetings were held - both in bilateral and multilateral formats, the head of state stated, noting that he recalls with particular warmth his first official visit to the Russian Federation in June last year, during which the Declaration on deepening strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.

In this regard, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin for his great personal contribution to the development and strengthening of the Turkmen-Russian multifaceted cooperation.

Thanking for the kind words, the leader of the friendly country expressed confidence that the signed Declaration and the whole range of joint work would benefit the development of bilateral interstate relations.

During a telephone conversation, the head of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation for the condolences sent in connection with the death of his grandmother and mother of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - Ogulabat eje.
