Today in Turkmenistan, as well as in 175 countries of the world, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) in 2003 proposed to celebrate this day officially. This year's World Day for Safety and Health at Work focuses on safety and health at work as fundamental principles and rights at work.

Labor protection includes legal, socio-economic, organizational, technical, sanitary and hygienic, medical and preventive, rehabilitation and other measures.

Now the fundamental principles and rights in the labor sphere include the exclusion of all types of forced labor, freedom of association and recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the prohibition of child labor, safety and health at work, and the exclusion of any form of discrimination in the field of labor and employment.

In Turkmenistan, labor protection is taken care of at all enterprises and organizations, and everywhere there are specialists in this area. The fundamental task of trade unions is to disseminate best practices, forms and methods of work in the field of improving working conditions. Joint efforts with the administration of the enterprise and the organization are aimed at taking preventive measures to prevent possible negative consequences for the safety and health of workers.

Every year on April 28, the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan, together with industry trade unions, evaluates work to prevent and prevent industrial injuries and occupational diseases, create healthy, safe and harmless working conditions for workers, improve their technological and labor discipline, production culture and labor productivity.

At the enterprises and organizations of the country, information stands are held and designed on the theme of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, labor protection specialists who have achieved positive results in solving issues of improving working conditions are awarded, quizzes and round tables are held, according to the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
