A meeting with the delegation of Turkmenistan was held at the Japan Institute of International Relations

On April 27, the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev met with the Director General of the Japan Institute of International Relations, Professor Tomiko Ichikawa in Tokyo. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov and other representatives of the Japanese university.

During the exchange of views, the parties discussed the possibilities of academic and scientific cooperation, establishing a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership in promising areas of interaction. In this context, the possibilities of joint online lectures, scientific and academic exchange, establishing a dialogue at the expert level and organizing research publications are considered.

The meeting participants also paid special attention to the implementation of youth policy, especially the role of representatives of the younger generation of Turkmen citizens in international relations in the context of implementing the strategy of international youth cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on youth policy issues and establish contacts for the exchange of experience in this direction.

2023 has been declared “The Year of Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar” in Turkmenistan. The motto of the year, which is aimed at drawing special attention to the role of youth in the ongoing reforms in Turkmenistan, is in harmony with the position of the state in international relations on these issues. Taking into account the huge determining role in the further sustainable and comprehensive socio-economic development of the country, strengthening its leadership positions on the world stage, youth is a priority of national and state interests.

The youth policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan is aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for the formation, development and personal growth of young Turkmen citizens, expanding opportunities for the maximum realization of their intellectual, creative and spiritual potential in the interests of society and the state.
