Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed trade cooperation with the head of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey

The issues of increasing the volume of trade between the two countries and intensifying cooperation in this direction were discussed today by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of the Republic of Turkey Rifat Hisarcyklyoglu, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, the information program Watan of the Turkmen television.

During the meeting, the chairman of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey expressed gratitude for the conditions created for the fruitful work of Turkish entrepreneurs in Turkmenistan, which the Turks consider their historical homeland.

The head of the supreme representative body of Turkmenistan noted the fruitfulness of the consistent build-up of the Turkmen-Turkish dialogue in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, which received a new impetus thanks to the efforts of the two countries.

It was emphasized that the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation and the Business Council, which play an important role in this, became the result of successful interstate cooperation to strengthen partnerships and implement joint large-scale projects.

The fuel and energy, transport and communications, agricultural industries, food and textile industries, as well as the areas of high technologies and ecology were named as promising areas for the implementation of joint projects in Turkmenistan.

At the same time, the importance of implementing joint projects in the food and pharmaceutical industries was emphasized.

Noting that environmental issues occupy an important place in the urban development program of the country, the National Leader of the Turkmen people stressed that during the construction of the city of Arkadag, production facilities will be created taking into account modern environmental requirements.

“Today, the concept of a smart city is given great importance,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, noting that in the new city, preference will be given to environmentally friendly production, electric buses and electric taxis, and huge prospects for bilateral cooperation are opening up in this direction.

Speaking about the measures taken to establish a modern service system in the city of Arkadag based on the latest technologies and digital solutions, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty focused on the need to intensify the exchange of experience between Turkmen and Turkish specialists in the field of advanced services. In this context, it is planned to create a unified system of emergency services in settlements.

In continuation of the meeting, they discussed the prospects for developing partnerships between the business structures of the two countries. As noted, the issues of building the potential of small and medium-sized businesses and their integration into the international space are being worked out in detail in Turkmenistan, which is of particular importance for enhancing multifaceted business cooperation on a wider scale.

As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, the issues of rational use of land and water resources are on the agenda, and therefore it is important to study the latest technologies, scientific achievements and the implementation of the digital system.

The systematic construction of desalination plants and the use of advanced irrigation methods will make it possible to successfully solve the problems facing this direction. Speaking about this, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that there are good prospects for the exchange of experience with representatives of the Turkish business community in laying a water supply system and purchasing the products necessary for these purposes.

The businessman stated that Turkey has launched the production of pipes for water supply systems that meet modern quality and environmental standards. It is suitable for Turkmenistan, as it is suitable for use in the local climate.

In addition, it was emphasized that at present bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education continues to develop successfully, as evidenced by long-term mutually beneficial interuniversity ties. In this context, the businessman noted the prospects for Turkmen youth wishing to get an education in Turkish educational institutions.
