Turkmenistan entered the ranking of countries with the lowest level of air pollution. According to World Air Quality, in 2022, Turkmenistan ranked 44th in the World Air Quality Index.
It is worth noting that this is the best indicator among all the countries of Central Asia, where Kazakhstan is in 40th place, Kyrgyzstan is in 24th, Uzbekistan is in 20th and Tajikistan is in 9th.
It should be noted that the lower the position of a country in the ranking, the better the air quality in that country.
According to the DARYO agency, the IQAir online platform is responsible for monitoring air quality in the region. It calibrates and harmonizes air quality data from observation stations around the world in real time.
We add that the World Air Quality rating is based on the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO).
