The diplomatic service of Turkmenistan in the conditions of a difficult epidemiological situation, natural and man-made emergencies occurring in the world, has taken and is taking active measures to protect the rights of Turkmen citizens abroad. This was stated today by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At a time when hundreds of citizens of Turkmenistan were forced to stay outside their homeland due to the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of specific measures were taken to create optimal conditions for the citizens of Turkmenistan to stay abroad.
So, in order to strengthen the status of stay of Turkmen citizens in a foreign state, the validity of their passports for leaving Turkmenistan and entering Turkmenistan, temporarily staying or permanently residing in foreign states, expired or expiring from January 01, 2020 to December 30, 2024, has been extended until December 31, 2024.
At the request of their citizens, the embassies and consular offices of Turkmenistan abroad put a mark on the extension of the document until 12.31.2024 in their passports.
Thus, at this time, about 200 thousand passports of citizens of Turkmenistan who are abroad have been extended, and this practice continues.
In order to provide practical assistance to its citizens on the ground, a number of trips of employees of the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan abroad were organized.
The government of Turkmenistan has organized dozens of export special flights for its citizens from the Russian Federation, Belarus, China, Türkiye, Germany, Poland, Romania, the United States and other countries.
