President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people, the Government and on his own behalf, congratulated the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on his re-election to the highest state post, announced the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television.
“Under your wise leadership, China has been developing dynamically in recent years, the people's standard of living has been consistently rising, and the country is taking a constructive position in international affairs. I would like to note with satisfaction that at present relations between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China are in the nature of a comprehensive strategic partnership, which was given a new impetus during my state visit to your country in January this year”, - the congratulatory telegram says.
Expressing readiness to continue to jointly make every effort to bring the Turkmen-Chinese cooperation to a higher level, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished President Xi Jinping good health, happiness and prosperity, as well as great success in all his undertakings for the benefit of the friendly people of China.
Delegates to the first session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC, Parliament) today unanimously voted to re-elect Xi Jinping as President of the People's Republic of China for an unprecedented third five-year term.
2 952 people took part in the voting.
The re-election of Xi Jinping, who will turn 70 in June, became possible after amendments to the Chinese Constitution in 2018: now the same person can hold the post of head of state an unlimited number of times.
Xi Jinping has been the leader of China since 2013.
