This year, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) conducted a regional study to analyze the difference between the standards in the UNECE Framework Guidelines for Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Turkmenistan's current energy efficiency standards in this area. This was reported by Trend with reference to the ECE.
The UNECE supports Turkmenistan in strengthening the energy efficiency potential of buildings, the international organization noted.
One of the objectives of ECE is to support the strengthening of the capacity of UNECE member states in the development and implementation of building energy efficiency standards with a focus on residential buildings.
- This goal will be realized through the introduction of energy efficient technologies, improvement of energy efficiency standards, as well as accelerating the implementation of these technologies by improving knowledge from a technical point of view, the organization said.
In 2022, UNECE conducted a global assessment of the statistical system of Turkmenistan and provided technical assistance in support of the population and housing census.
