Hybrids of a domestic pig and a wild boar got into the wild, multiplied and are now attacking the southern regions of Canada and even targeting the northern United States, the MIR 24 portal writes.

Canadian farmers bred a cross between domestic and wild pigs back in the 80s. Hybrids have taken all the best from their ancestors - they are very prolific, distinguished by high intelligence and survival in the wild.

Apparently, several individuals managed to break free and they founded a new colony, settling in the southern regions of Canada. They are perfectly accustomed to the harsh conditions of the Canadian taiga, they get food with the help of sharp fangs, dig tunnels perfectly in deep snow and are distinguished by elusiveness.

Scientists fear that the invasion of "super-pigs" could cause serious damage to the ecosystem of the areas in which they settled. Hybrids will destroy crops and populations of forest plants and even small animals. Hoping that the population of "super-pigs" may decrease is not worth it, the hybrids are extremely prolific and are highly resistant to diseases.
