In Japan, a new phenomenon is gaining momentum – “sushi terrorism” with the participation of teenagers, reports the RBC website. Teenagers come to restaurants with a conveyor along which dishes move and spoil food: licking it, touching it with their hands, licking the necks of soy sauce bottles and spoons from common jars of green tea. The “sushi terrorists” record their actions on smartphones and post them online.

In one such video, a teenager licked the neck of a bottle of sauce and put it back on the conveyor belt, another licked his finger and touched some sushi on the belt.

There are many restaurants with conveyors - kaiten-zushi in Japan, they are very popular among the population. The annual turnover of such restaurants reaches 5,7 billion dollars, so the videos with the actions of pests that have spread on the Internet have caused serious financial and reputational damage to restaurateurs.

The Japanese police have already begun investigating cases, and the restaurateurs themselves are taking urgent anti-vandal measures: now visitors will have to pick up all the sauces and dishes at the service point, and it is also planned to install surveillance cameras over the conveyors.
