1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to the head of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, and the Prime Minister of this Islamic Republic, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, in connection with the terrorist act that happened in a mosque in the city of Peshawar, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. “Resolutely opposing any manifestations of terrorism and extremism, Turkmenistan fully supports the efforts of the world community in counteracting this evil and eradicating it”, - the message of Serdar Berdimuhamedov says.
2. A new pharmacy, built within the framework of the implementation of state reform programs, opened in the city of Kerki, Lebap velayat. The establishment of a pharmacy system with a total area of 500 square meters, which meets modern requirements, belongs to the individual enterprise Tebigat Çeşmesi. The pharmacy is open without breaks and days off from 7.00 to 23.00.
3. UNICEF handed over to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan new manuals on adaptation to climate change. School teachers of Turkmenistan will use in their work new methodological manuals on adaptation to climate change, developed specifically for them. The manuals are designed to facilitate teaching practice by incorporating climate change adaptation into 5 environmental subjects in primary and secondary education such as environmental science, ecology, geography, basic life skills and agriculture.
4. A new project has been launched in Ashgabat, aimed at more successful adaptation in the society of people with visual impairments. The project is being implemented by the Public Organization Ýenme. Within the framework of the project, 2 inclusive volleyball teams have been formed, which include visually impaired and blind people, as well as players with healthy vision.
5. The first anniversary of the launch was marked by Onlaýn taksi and Duralga services launched in Ashgabat in February 2022. Mobile applications for ordering a taxi and tracking bus routes have firmly entered the list of the most popular among the Internet users of the Turkmen capital in a short period. Today, the services of the Onlaýn taksi mobile application are used by an average of more than 25 thousand people, and the Duralga mobile application has about 60 thousand downloads.
6. On February 1, 2023, the Law “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Mutual Recognition of Visas and on Other Issues Related to the Entry of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons into the Territory of the States Parties to the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union states”. The Intergovernmental Agreement was signed in Minsk on June 19, 2020. Within 30 days, Belarus and Russia must complete all the necessary domestic procedures, and already in March 2023, foreign citizens and stateless persons will be able to enter, leave, stay, transit through the territory of Belarus and Russia on the basis of a visa of one of the two states and documents, certifying identity.
7. From February 1, 2023, Qatar began to require local health insurance for entry. Foreign nationals will now need health insurance issued by companies registered with the Qatar Ministry of Health. The health insurance policy is issued for 30 days and costs 50 Qatari riyals. It covers emergency services in case of accidents.
8. The Athletics Federation of Turkmenistan has confirmed the participation of 5 Turkmen athletes in the X Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Astana, which will be held from February 10 to 12, 2023. Turkmen athletes led by Baymurad Arslanmuradov will perform in the 60-meter hurdles, smooth run for the same distance and long jump.
9. Turkmen goalkeeper Rahat Japarov left the Kyrgyz football club “Abdysh-Ata” after the expiration of the contract. Now Japarov received the status of a free agent.
