An independent organization that determines the requirements for voluntary certification of agricultural products around the world - GLOBAL G.A.P., provides support to Turkmenistan in obtaining a certificate of organization and increasing the competitiveness of Turkmen products in the world market. This was reported by Trend with reference to the technical manager of GLOBAL G.A.P. for Key Accounts in Central Asia and Latvia Edith Strazdin.
“We are very pleased that Turkmenistan intends to obtain the Global G.A.P. certificate to increase the competitiveness of its products and that this project is indeed progressing very well. The first trainings and information events went very well, preparations for certification are in full swing”, - she said.
Speaking about the results of the work, Strazdina emphasized that training seminars on social risk assessment were held for Turkmen consultants.
“The goal was to provide insight and an overview, to increase the level of responsible business conduct, including compliance with labor standards by Turkmen companies, by motivating them by increasing their export competitiveness and meeting international environmental, social and governance standards in order to prevent disruptions in their activities and to help export their products abroad”, - said the technical manager.
Global G.A.P. Certification Program affects all stages of production, from feed or seed to finished products produced by agricultural enterprises.
