In two years, the Republic of Belarus plans to completely switch to low-floor public transport, accessible to passengers with limited mobility and mothers with prams, writes “Belta”.
In the country, more than 60% of public transport already has a low floor and a special ramp that permits you to get into the passenger compartment of the bus in a wheelchair.
In accordance with the “Accessible Environment” program, it was planned to purchase three low-floor buses in the Vitebsk region, but 40 units of these types of buses were purchased at once.
