A terminal for transshipment of fertilizers from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will be put into operation in the Baku port in 2023

It is planned to build a terminal for transshipment of mineral fertilizers in the Baku port (Azerbaijan) by the beginning of 2023. It was reported by the Report agency referring to the head of the common cargo terminal of the “Baku International Sea Trade Port” CJSC Kamran Jalili.

The new fertilizer terminal in the Baku port will handle 3 million tons of cargo annually and 600 tons per hour at the Baku port.

As per the words of Jalili, it is planned to import sulfur, carbamide, ammonium nitrate fertilizers from the countries of Central Asia, including Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, to the port.

On July 25, 2022, an agreement was reached between the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Turkish group of companies Albayrak on the construction of a fertilizer terminal.

At present time, the port has four terminals (three in Alat and one oil terminal in Dubendi).
