The solemn closing ceremony of the European Union Culture Week in Turkmenistan under the title “Unity in Diversity” was held on October 31 at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.
Here also was conducted a concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by Rasul Klychev as well as the State Choir, headed by Haydar Eminov. The “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reports it.
In the program of the concert the works by German, French, Austrian, Italian, composers: Ludwig Van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Georges Bizet, Georg Friedrich Handel, Francis Poulenc, Giacomo Puccini and Anton Bruckner were performed. The music of Latvian, Czech and Estonian composers Richard Dubra, Antonin Dvorjak, Urmas Sisask, Helmers Pavasars; Latvian folk songs in a new arrangement by composer Raymond Pauls were also performed.
Moreover, the music of the Turkmen Composer Nury Halmammedov was performed.
The concert program ended with the hit song “Turkmenistan” on the poem of Klychmurad Kakabayev, music of Rejep Rejepov in the performance of the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldy Garyagdyev.
Vita Timermane, a choral conductor and public figure from Latvia, took an active part in the Week.
- A magnificent city of Ashgabat is impressive, - she emphasizes. – The citizens are very sympathetic. I am very fascinated and very proud that I have such opportunity to orchestrate here, in Ashgabat. The country's choral art certainly has good prospects. The European Cultural Week was rich and exciting. There are a lot of talented young artists in Turkmenistan.
Let’s remind that the campaign started on October 24. It was organized jointly by the Representative Office of the European Union, the Embassies of Germany, Italy, Romania and France in Turkmenistan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the country.
Within the framework of the Week concerts, exhibitions, creative meetings, master-classes, conferences, training seminars for students were held.

- Master classes on the study of the Italian language were organized for three Ashgabat universities
