A Press Pool from the domestic mass media will be created at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The Vice - Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov addressed the Head of state with such a proposal at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held today, the news program “Watan” of the Turkmen television reported.

As per the words of the head of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, an important direction of the activities of such group is the extensive coverage in foreign media of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy, constructive initiatives of the country. At the same time, it seems relevant to study the latest methods used in the global media space and their subsequent introduction into the activities of national mass media. In this regard, it is proposed to intensify cooperation with the press attaches of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, to establish productive contacts with leading regional and international TV channels.

Having heard the information, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of taken successive steps on integration of Turkmenistan into the international information space, strengthening of fruitful cooperation with leading foreign mass media.

“In this context, great importance is attached to familiarizing the world community with the key vectors of Turkmenistan's peaceful foreign policy and domestic policy, the large-scale transformations and important events taking place in the Motherland, the major projects being implemented, the rich history and culture of the Turkmen people. The work conducted in this field also should be aimed at the active implementation into the work of national mass media leading multimedia digital technologies, facilitating mutually useful experience exchange with the foreign partners”, said Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

By stressing that the independent neutral Turkmenistan should be honorably presented in the world’s media space, the head of state gave a number of specific instructions to the Vice-Premier, the head of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
