The Ministry of Education will deal with issues of youth policy in Turkmenistan. This was announced today at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which, in accordance with the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy, established in 2018, was abolished.

As the Vice-Premier Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, who oversees this area, said at a Government meeting, this decision is justified by the tasks set at the VII Congress of the Mahtumkuli Youth Organization held on September 1, 2022.

“In accordance with Article 10 of the new version of the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Youth Policy”, the Ministry of Education is the authorized body that carries out state regulation and control in this area”, the Vice-Premier stressed.

In order to “carry out a unified state policy in the field of education and youth policy, ensure high quality of education and upbringing of youth”, as well as the implementation of tasks arising from the Laws of Turkmenistan “On Education” and “On State youth policy”, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree at a Government meeting, approving the structure of the central office of the Ministry of Education.
