British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced that she was resigning, she headed the British Cabinet on September 6, writes TASS with reference to the Sky News channel.
“I admit that, given the situation, I cannot cope with the responsibilities of the mandate entrusted to me, to which I was elected by the Conservative Party. Therefore, I have contacted His Majesty the King to inform him that I am resigning as leader of the Conservative Party”, she said.
Truss specified that she would remain head of government until her successor was elected. It should be noted that Truss' term as Prime Minister has become a record short for the UK.
