Turkmenistan annually invests about 17 billion USD in the economy. About this stated the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting with representatives of the business community of Japan, which was held in Tokyo, reported the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper today.
“Annually, investments in our economy are equal to about 35-40 percent of GDP, which is about 17 billion USD. At the same time, the share of foreign investments is up to 15 percent of the total”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
According to him, despite the ambiguous situation in the world economy, Turkmenistan continues to demonstrate stable economic performance.
“The growth of the gross domestic product remains at the level of more than 6 percent”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
The speaker of the Halk Maslahaty of the National Parliament noted that it was no coincidence that in 2021 the International Rating Agency Fitch Ratings assigned Turkmenistan a short-term rating of “B” and a long-term rating of “B + stable”.
“This year this rating was confirmed again”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated.
Let us remind that last week, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was on a working trip to Japan, during which he participated in the state funeral of Shinzo Abe, and also held meetings with the Prime Minister of Japan, representatives of parliament, leaders of some leading companies in the country.
